New York was great (thanks tim) because everyone honks so much that its impossible to tell if someone is actually honking at you.. You havent been to a county fair till youve been to one in west virginia.. I played a show in Chicago (but this one was a real show) this girl told me it was open mic night but really they just needed another opening band. I thought we were just having a friendly conversation about music, but really she was trying to see if she trusted me to play.. There were a lot of people there. I made up a song about how I know why it's really called the windy city even though im from Utah. And how their politicians should work on their image and not go out on the town to all the bars and clubs. Then when I noticed a bunch were in the audience I started singing about how Ryan Sandberg was the greatest 2nd baseman to ever play the game.. Oh and when I was in Texas I got pulled over by a State Trooper with a tall cowboy hat on.. I love when stereotypes come true. Nothing makes me happier.. And I've come to realize that 92.3% of stereotypes are true.. What an amazing world. Oh for example. I was in south bend taking pictures of Notre Dames football stadium, and right below the touchdown Jesus, a student was walking by and I was going to ask him if there was anyway I could get into the stadium. But He looked EXACTLY like Rudy. So I said, "Hey I'm glad I ran into you, I'm trying to get into the stadium to take pictures, do you think you could get me in touch with that black guy that does the maintenance for the field?" Haha. He didn't get it though and I think he thought I was weird.. If he did think that, then he was right.... Oh one last thing.. Does anyone ever get as excited to jump over the invisible line as the garage is closing as I do? The answer is no..
<img style="display:block; Thats right, not 25 cents, not even 50 cents, but 75 cents. It's quite possible i've stopped at over a hundred lemonade stands. As a matter of fact, I've never passed up a lemonade stand in my whole life, except for one time. That one time I was forced to pass up lemonade stand about a year and a half ago inspired me to do some research. This post is about the research i've conducted over the past 18 months on lemonade stands.
When you picture a lemonade stand I bet the first thing that comes to your mind is a sign on a table or stand that says "Lemonade 25 cents". Thats just the way its been forever. Throughout high school this was never a problem for me, even on my mission it wasn't. When the economy started to decline, most businesses started getting desperate, therefore lowering their prices and rates. The only two businesses I can think of that did the opposite were lemonade stands and oil companies. Now, back to the time I was forced to pass up a lemonade stand.
Yesterday I was driving down some random street in Orem when I saw a lemonade stand. I pulled over and saw the price was 50 cents. At least it wasn't 75 but still, 50 is a little steep for one little cup of lemonade. So I started looking in my ash trey for change and only had 38 cents. I started looking under my seats and everywhere else I could in my car, and couldn't find any more change (the economy has effected me obviously.. At least thats my excuse). So I asked the kids if 38 cents was enough and they said, "No it's 50 cents". I couldn't believe it. They weren't going to budge either. So I just gave them ten cents and left.
A few weeks ago I was home in St. George for the weekend and my nieces and nephews and some other neighbor kids had a lemonade stand, so I pulled over to buy some and noticed something that has been a fairly consistent trend since my research started. They had extra goods and services to offer besides lemonade. They also had popcorn and offered to bring it to your car so you don't have to get out. Yesterday the lemonade stand had lemonade, or gatorade and also cookies. I've stopped at one that sold lemonade and rocks they had collected. When I pulled up to the lemonade stand yesterday the little kid was quick to say, "you can stay in your car sir, we'll bring it to you" ha, who did he think he was fooling? I quickly got out of my car and went to them. I know what they are trying to pull when they do that. They want a tip and they'll bring you more than you planned on getting so you feel bad and just buy it all. When I got my cup of lemonade a cute little black girl gave it to me and I gave her an extra quarter. As I drove away drinking my watered down cup of lemonade (half full with a little dirt in it) I realized I had just spent a dollar. These kids are so tricky with business. Of course they get the cutest little girl in the neighborhood to stand behind the stand with her cute little cornrows. They probably don't even let her keep the 25 cents. They just use her like Little Caesars uses people to dance around all day on the streets with a Hot & Ready sign.
Now, here is the craziest part about my study that has left me so confused and intrigued I decided to write this post today. Only about two hours after I bought lemonade from the stand in Provo, I heard a knock at my front door. I was in my basement playing the guitar so I decided I wouldn't go up to answer it. Then the knocks got really really loud, and being the curious George I am (as well as return missionary who knocked on tons of doors people didn't answer) I decided to go up and answer it. As I opened the door two little girls were walking away. They turned around and started walking back to my doorstep. The girl had a little cup of lemonade in her hand (half full) and said, "Um, we were wondering if you want to buy this lemonade for 25 cents?" I only had 23 cents, I asked if that was ok and with a little hesitation they said, "thats fine".. Wow!! Talk about a serious conflict in my lemonade stand research. Maybe the economy is having an effect on some lemonade stands after all. I mean, thats the ultimate sign of a struggling business. When you resort to going door to door, you know times are hard. My next course of action is going to be to research the cause of these girls resorting to going door to door. Is it the economy? An experiment? Or perhaps just a bad location? At this point I have no Idea, but I hope to have some further insights on these questions and many other questions concerning the Lemonade Stands & The Economy.Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-33784049316526570482009-05-25T12:17:00.006-06:002009-05-25T12:36:16.352-06:00Rendezvous In The Rockies<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRH4Z2vjIcIYt8428iGbOj1XsV5bUJtzuNpkbATb79gImJ5eZ1rU45yPHE-3OWkRwj8AGJlVUDoX0N4iyTg9rTmiJq6Hdp7hEzMeT-PZRon4TgUTbJ_M4LIrzflcOFzQynCYDhSMG1alPE/s400/DSC_3270.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339832142816059074" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3LKgerdudDJ0xQ9XFYHB8DyYFY8arn1O9YOuxXAgJ_tgWLmS9UVFJqyya3I322h6-zIr5pcqJb78BKXBkuKhlhLfUuG7cqCKni4ZygY4BCMyFMQGl11R4_2aKnmJlmZpAxVMDtaCBFW6W/s400/DSC_3263.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339830231881262610" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghbKk06orAUuMS1xnBjxjXzmE_rWcLlbZtgj8nHethBD6ECPQkAy3sFx6Y8cfetEQSfTohDsk4j2wpLy9OOX04a2r_ZwVhdWkFj1sOU-T9l_W2oGgGrasmfZTiuNLc7lp83RnghcFTJiDb/s400/DSC_3271.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339829954263976818" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 271px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglRfrdMMTJlrD_2OpHVZWthDv0QZAy5gQGm3FHQixJSi6gxxuh0Nj-IFpDgBS11op6ThkbJE4jnQNDTiBjCSJfyF8tFzSB9HpXLmjnXnEtpnUQpfPqrmRSrj0eaF5muWGArW9cMTzuCL1O/s400/DSC_3272.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339829946455717202" />
Smokin' Bill, Wild Johnson, Little Stump and I (Lonely Bob) had a great time at The Rendezvous this weekend. I'd have to say my favorite thing about my new friends is the fact that they don't just play the part of mountain men... They literally live in the mountains and dress like this everyday. They nicknamed me Lonely Bob because I played them "Moonshiner" by Bob Dylan and they all really like that song, and I was at the rendezvous by myself.. Well my Uncle Ken and his family were there too. But I slept in a tent by myself and just hung out with Smokin' Bill, Little Stump and Wild Johnson the whole time..
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 252px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMFNE4nQO83cSmHI3OQ0N9qsvwcfsfpgDo_UDMbIMzzp3koGfE0aetjHxRhOse5gmlZGwZA25eOjUEQLA_Ba4Ao7RX4k4VWWVFk603pGtBJSO_znUyVOTz8E16zeEwhh1LlO0Z8tWDkSrL/s400/DSC_3269.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339827958382267506" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaa_vg-CP4Wa-e837HRDS9UvJ6t8oxYz36qAKJ-1JtYH6jhJ6hFnTmBoxnq8BzSbs4Os-M7QH-bv-6rlyRfZqrRHbNTjd1NWRqIs4jktU3ekafaQ56TmpBhcCAbKIhWo215Fjdb1M3L-r8/s400/DSC_3258.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339827948682249730" />
The other highlight of the rendezvous was this lady that was there that went on tour for like three years with Fleetwood Mac. She was their Hair Stylist. She has also been on short tours with The Rolling Stones, Rush, Elton John and David Bowie.. She has hung out with Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia and on and on.. She had her photo albums with her and it was amazing to see all of her pictures in europe with Fleetwood Mac in hotel rooms with them and pictures of her hanging out with Keith Richards and Mick Jagger... She said this was her last rendezvous though cause she's moving to Yosemite National Park to do some Gold Mining. Smokin' Bill gave her a map that shows where all the rivers and mountains that have gold in them.. She's my dream woman. Not like a chip but kind of like paper maybe (if you were to bite paper for some reason) I didn't know oranges could get crusty.. It was the white stuff that's suppose to be really good for you that got crusty.
I took pictures at a wedding this weekend (and the dinner) I tried to take as many pictures of people in the most awkward chewing moments to show why you shouldn't hire a photographer to take pictures at your dinner the night before your wedding.. Although I did get four fortune cookies out of the dinner. I ate two and the other two are on my desk (by the crusty orange) all crushed from being left in my suit coat pocket over the weekend.. I think I'm going to eat them now and see what my fortunes are... Hold on one minute..
First fortune, "You are a deep thinker with a knack for problem solving" I sure hope so cause I have a lot of problems.
Second fortune, ... wow. I don't believe in chinese people anymore. my second fortune is the same as the first one.. Or maybe they are trying to reiterate it because it's so true and important. Ok never mind, I do believe chinese people.Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-67409333877696721952009-03-02T23:51:00.004-07:002009-03-03T01:03:22.737-07:00Portland<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 273px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ3XgBwYwjb1BOdP5pXRr37GtzHt50A6T2Euibiuo85RPvfUQ9AE8IoX0roFPXbg73sr7FbbYKZlS-A9o-2J-M_R67M2_82aETdLKwyjGoTxJsN1G2djK5dP6cvFoXJqKmagLJC3OC88Q-/s400/DSC_9264.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5308856294880035618" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjZvVxk2Zt1vJFZsGDmlU4wyMEIjhj-DGlzcWXaOFmc79Z4xLUHVyOuz7LO9vVBQw9sMhjIchMg33TzSBhlYRvoYMu1Ifonhq7chwQaqJ1CjTaFh7JNogDi3mrEM4dXkEv1aL7K3iRbp4n/s400/DSC_9361.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5308856286869026466" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqlzQQ59zJNdGMTjqzJpI04pyM7H9uChwL0bTJYRwUBPDrRpWEd3HbxU2L66f2dYmkys0PkU5f_v6-BNe9UgF01ee32GTGkKT_dEYRa7qD3JACxlCvc9RIHsWAkvwwbCvyfIjettxOEe60/s400/DSC_9199.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5308855784174850258" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq__jHal_fRnrlHNTWnQs6eAw3AVIfPVlCW7NLZmUsv-mE4zoT7KXcCitNrhBmijkl05uMxQ4hP32llWvvSjKCg9gACEyPKvq_QtYq-5ZWNNDSqPnggxO1zlOJDstzKGU5n3IJHUgMjvsb/s400/Stroll+In+The+Park.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5308850916251537186" />
I was just in Portland for the week taking pictures for the Rose family of their kids playing basketball.. Portland is by far the prettiest city i've ever been to. Scott (my second uncle if that's possible) works for Nike and gave me 9 pairs of new shoes. That;s right, bling bling. I was excited about it, maybe i'll go to the gym like two times a day now. Oh ya real quick.. Just a little side note. It seems like the D.I. is the ultimate place for finding people singing along to the songs being played, in a very enthusiastic tone. And it's always really bad songs that for some reason everyone knows, but at the same time you wonder how the people singing them know them.. Like, "How do I live without you? I want to know. How do I breathe without you..." and "you're body is a wonderland" and, or Fly away by Lenny Kravitz or "I am I said" by Neil Diamond.. It's crazy and annoying and entertaining how people of all sorts, ages, styles and size just sing songs like these so loud while they are shopping at the D.I. either by themselves or pushing their kid in a stroller. I always want to do it but I just can't get myself to.. Anyway. Portland was cool.Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-43890794400280686432009-02-07T15:07:00.007-07:002009-02-07T15:44:46.996-07:00My New Band.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFBMhiCTdsMHpvO3P2fyA252vynn4cbQrwFQCsB1bWMcZQBJoHujrXRmfsXlGbmpSr4QyHpjkIsvRPW3o7uX8sEnJi674sVPWqPenTJPmmN2FHSHiEte8GEgx589io87aq8Q4qDBkHJaIU/s400/DSC_7891.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300189615682117858" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt6b1aTSZwUiTZ8sESxEpVukTv_iWq7N5sVXbB0H6G-ckiQIrErzFbU4HFFq8X9g89t2SOAp9yQ3uhVCSaL24dNXuAWEsQpOg4Zb6werM_3aE7EYH0ToSYK2IPhKRnoPKP1IqNVQQxKof_/s400/DSC_8103.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300186901055435314" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiURdChDIRUOckS3kC_fmD8g8YRboKS-qHI6LUe7EgUhdfRafyydmyFY5-ZWtIr8cOyu5UyJQJApfemMkso5l7F8SlWnql7YdYRJb-XrQefOVA4GJuwq2a5AioYb7JDAxLPyU-LKqd7I5f/s400/DSC_7898.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300186894908918690" />

Lately I've been busy (but trying to not be too busy) starting a band. I recently moved to American Fork and the first day I was here I went to the D.I. down the street from my house to look for records. While looking for records I met an old guy who was also looking for records. His name is Clyde Yewell. He is 68 and he lives in a trailer (# 14). We got talking realized we had much in common, such as similar tastes in old country and blues artists, writing and recording music by ourselves, shopping at thrift stores and collecting cool old stuff.. So right then and there we started a band. I went to his trailer an hour later and stayed there until five in the morning jamming and recording.. Clyde has written and recorded literally thousands of songs on his tape recorder.. His trailer is full of tapes of songs he's recorded, boots, records, paintings and drawings he's done, crafts he's made, and a lot of leather vests he's decorated..

It gets better...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 265px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrYnAF1jq7IQKVoeot-5xeL0uWMt0IltobYEQK-H6F-of1F5dZiDgsnb13fXu3jtHoVjAq1MPeppkc-Up2KHGN36akkkopR4uHTlgd1kC2eyd34EZd-2FDec53azfj_FgLNDO6z0A7ApqM/s400/DSC_8026.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300186566414661874" />
The next day I was taking engagement pictures at this old thrift store that went out of business awhile ago.. It is a cool old looking building, I've taken pictures there a few times over the past few years but never knew anyone had anything to do with the place, let alone live in it. That was until a man and his wife and 19 year old son pulled up in a big what use to be hostess truck. I got talking to them about the place they lived in, why they lived there, how they lived there, folk music, business ideas, and the movie Finding Faith in Christ and....... you'll never guess. Clyde Yewell.. When Homer told me he wanted to turn this old thrift store they were renting as their home into a music venue and that he wanted to jam with me, I told him i'd like to and I told him it was ironic because I had just met another guy I started jamming with. Then, Homer asked what the guys name was.. Clyde Yewell I said.. Homer than said, "Clyde Yewell!! I jam with Clyde!" So there you have it. The band is coming together nicely so far.. We are just recording and trying to put some stuff together, which hasn't been hard at all so far considering the thousands of songs we have written between the three of us. I only have like fifteen songs written though, but I have like three hundred amazing first verses to songs I've written.. So, hopefully we can play a show here in Provo within the next month or so.. Clyde and Homer have a few ideas for a few other people to add to our band. So hopefully we can get the people they have in mind. When this all comes together we will be amazing.. We are amazing.

P.S. Homer was in the movie Finding Faith In Christ.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 265px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs8KjtMEspY_KQ_mtX8Vj4-0ePDZv5ry1P62Wa8N8W8jAlXK97jqnxijEocr_nvcFLxHjTEMSu3UvzBZrKhDIncHPkRoYGMLhsCidErl9p98_1WIj74iKZGvNhtZeC_fiwxyl0Zm2egSEc/s400/DSC_7884.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300189993736244226" />Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-72986825787910210932009-01-26T12:47:00.004-07:002009-01-30T12:16:46.989-07:00Hey Hey My My Rock And Roll Can Never DieThis show was on the November 1st in Reno. It was the best show i've ever been too. Death Cab for Cutie opened for Neil Young (don't ask me why) and that sucked because the other half of the tour Wilco opened for Neil. I felt bad for Death Cab. If I was them I would have felt really dumb being so not cool and opening for Neil Young... I don't even think anyone was really watching them, maybe a few teenage girls... Keep on Rockin' in the Free World was amazing, especially because it was during the elections, so all the hippies were going crazy. The best part about the hippies at the show was that they were like reliving the seventies for a few hours. I was trying to imagine my mom and dad there, but I couldn't. I especially was trying to imagine my dad or any other dad jamming as hard as Neil does.. Cortez the Killer was the best song he played. This is about the view I had too.. I was probably fifty feet away but from this same angle.. I wish the video didn't cut off though cause it got better and better as the song went on..

Unkown Legend was amazing too.. His wife is one of the back up vocalists. I think this song is about her (if not it seems like it is now the way they look at each other when they play it) His wife is really cool. His amps and organ are even more amazing.
Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-59768149364305082672009-01-26T01:13:00.001-07:002009-01-26T01:14:25.582-07:00I love you now I know, it doesn't matter. I love you now I know, that's all that mattersJordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-58956443512336728212009-01-25T23:49:00.002-07:002009-01-26T00:18:57.468-07:00Refereeing basketball games... One of my new Jobs A few weeks ago I started refereeing basketball games. The age groups i ref are fifth graders to eighth graders. I played sports my whole life and still do occasionally, and I have umpired baseball games too, but this has been my first time refereeing basketball games, so I would like to write about a few things I find very interesting from my experience as a referee so far.
People are very, very stupid. Yes that is right.. I don't have a lot of faith in the emotional and mental maturity level of the average human being as it is and this is just confirming/strengthening my judgments of the average human... It is unbelievable how worked up the coaches and parents get over their 10 year old sons basketball game.. One of my favorite/not favorite things the coaches and parents yell is, "Traveling!!" as if I didn't see it. The reason it's so ridiculous is because these kids travel almost every time they get the ball, so as referee's we have to try to just call the very obvious ones. Another common quote i'd like to talk about is, "Call it both ways ref!!". Last night a coach kept yelling that at me and I said to him during a time out, "Look, I don't know anyone on either team, nor do I care about anyone on either team, so do you really think I have a reason to throw the game? Do you really think I would randomly decide I want to just start calling fouls on one team and not the other?"

Last night some kids grandpa came up to my cousin Garrett and I (who ref's with me sometimes) and said, "In basketball there is a rule called three seconds in the key, and you guys didn't call it once last game.? We wanted to tell the guy all the other rules their are in basketball that we didn't call last game... Why? Cause they didn't happen!

I am blown away by how many coaches there are that yell throughout the game what the call should be, even when we do call them they are one second ahead of us. Then the other coach yells, "Oh don't let him influence you to call that!" HAHA. it's just great.. One coach was yelling at us all game (and his voice was unusually loud) and his team ended up winning by a three pointer at the buzzer. He was so happy and he came up and told us a good job and said sorry I got a little worked up and was yelling at you guys so much.... I wanted to say, "Liar, you wouldn't have been sorry or thought we did a good job if that last shot didn't go in and you ended up losing." Because that's the truth. Why didn't the other coach come up and shake our hand and tell us sorry and that we did a good job? hhmmmm, probably cause his team lost. Which proves how emotionally worked up these people get..

It's really funny how the coaches will yell things like, "Hey he's reaching!!" or, "that's three seconds in the key!!" but then when his players do it he's quiet. I always want to call the foul he's complaining about on his team and then when he freaks out i'd say, "well coach what do you want me to do? you've been yelling at me to watch for three seconds in the key and so I did and your guy was in the key for three seconds."

One of these days I want to coach basketball just so I can yell things like, "Hey, are you blind ref!!? My guy's been in the key for three seconds!" or, "Blow your whistle! my players are reaching in like crazy!!" The fact that coaches stay silent when their players are in the wrong, but yell and throw fits when the other team is in the wrong, only proves they don't actually care for the game to be called fair.

P.S. I get paid $15 a game to do this in case you were wondering why I deal with all of this drama. And being the struggling college student that I am it's not a bad job on the side.
Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-31090580639936256582009-01-16T21:12:00.003-07:002009-01-16T21:26:17.938-07:00Over Analyzing, Or Under Analyzing? I analyze things (mostly unimportant) more than most people think I should, they call it "over analyzing". I've heard people say that I "over analyze" things too much quite a bit throughout my life, but I don't agree with the people who say that. What gives them the right or authority to set the standard or point at which a person officially "over analyzes" something?
I've come up with an idea. I'm going to start giving all of the "over analyzer" accusers of the world a taste of their own medicine. I'm going to start getting frustrated, mad, bugged, and make fun at people for "under analyzing" things. I'll say things like, "That's it? Thats all you have to say about this? Geez, you under analyze things so bad. I might as well be having a conversation with my 12 year old nephew." Or, "Wow, you're so boring and annoying. You under analyze every little thing that gets brought up. I feel like I'm getting stupider every time we talk about things."

Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-24981074970049850232009-01-13T13:10:00.005-07:002009-01-13T13:35:48.720-07:00Don't Judge A Person For Judging A Book By It's Cover

....... If you think about it, it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a person to tell someone to not judge a book by it's cover. Here are the reasons why..

1. It's a free country, so you can judge a book by it's cover if you feel like it.

2. In the Book of Mormon it says "it is given to all men that they may judge"

3. The person judging the book by it's cover may just be literally judging the actual cover.

4. The cover of a book will always give you some sort of idea what the book is about.

So remember to never judge a person (unless you feel like it) for judging a book by it's cover. But at the same time. Be careful you don't judge a person (unless you feel like it) for judging someone who's judging a book by it's cover.

Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-33555128734220605572009-01-11T14:32:00.002-07:002009-01-11T14:56:04.674-07:00My Soon To Be QuotesFirst of all, if you are planning on stealing my Idea then I will take you to court and get lots of money from you.. People, pictures, music, clothes, furniture, books, stores, restaurants, movies, just about everything. Which leads me spending way more time then I have (i'm not only in debt financially but with time, sleep and other things. but i'll save that for another blog) in thrift stores and other old places.. I think my dream job would be to buy things at thrift stores and sell them on line. I saw the coolest old musket rifle today at the thrift store for fifteen bucks! And i swear it was probably in the civil war.. Also, a fishing basket, like the ones you see Brad Pitt and his brother and dad use on A River Runs Through it. Often times throughout my life ive been asked this question about my purchases of "junk"... "what are you even gonna do with that?" and my answer is usually always the same.. "Probably nothing, but look how cool it is" If I could rob any store in the world it would be an antique store in Virginia. Any of them really. They are all amazing and worth tons more than banks or jewelry stores. The greatest thing about thrift stores and antique stores is that they don't usually understand how much the things in their stores are worth.
Anyway, I'm going to start posting the cool old treasures I find on my blog each week (that is if i remember to) ... Actually speaking of treasures, thats why thrift stores are so amazing, its like an adrenaline rush when you find something amazing that you know is rare and worth a lot of money. Especially when it's like two dollars.

Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-57320217383493418452008-12-28T14:02:00.004-07:002009-01-16T21:28:14.449-07:00The Best Artist You've Never HeardJordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-23888657966891220322008-11-05T19:23:00.003-07:002008-11-05T19:25:20.808-07:00The Attack Of The Stuffed Animal...Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-16333992939772090152008-11-05T18:45:00.005-07:002008-11-06T00:33:09.600-07:00The Greatest Addiction I Am Facing In My Life.....Babe?Over the past four or five months i've grown to love and hate the usage of the word "Babe" in every way shape and form... It will take over your life as it has mine if you aren't careful... What started out as a joke turned into a serious addiction faster than I could say Babe.... Babe.? At first it wasn't that big of a deal, because it was just around certain friends and very casual. For example...

(Me) Oh hey babe. Whats up?

(A friend) Nothin babe. What are you up to babe?

(Me) Oh just hanging out. Babe, what should we do tonight babe?

Anyway, I think you get the idea. It starts out basic like that, then it gets worse and worse as you ad in different expressions and tones with it. For example when youre really shocked and concerned, "Baaaaabe?" (said slow at first and gradually getting more animated) Then there is the really short annoying, "Beb" (I spell it that way cause its said so short and choppy like) Then there is the excited, (Baaaaaaaaaaabe!) (usually when used when you havent seen someone for a day or two)..

So, the purpose of this blog is not just for me to confess this addiction I am suffering from, but to warn.. Today on this first day with a new President of the United States, I warn all who read this (and who don't) Be aware of the word "Babe"... Some of you might say to yourselves, "Wow, I would never let something like that become a habit" But you know what? Thats the exact thing alcoholics and smokers and heroin addicts probably said before they became addicted.. So Babes, don't take this subject lightly. It's just not worth it... Babe.

Jordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815443242468145030.post-35135401683034709172008-10-12T21:31:00.001-06:002008-10-12T21:33:53.586-06:00Post Carnival RideJordan Goodrichhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08733736610776597940noreply@blogger.com2
